North Berwick, Maine
47 years old and 38 years in the woods brings experience to the team! I
hunt coyotes, deer, bear, turkey, grouse and anything that needs to be
harvested for proper game management. I love to cook and eat what I harvest,
the grill and oven are a couple of my favorite toys! I am the Editor and
Webmaster for the North Berwick Rod & Gun Club and Life Member, I belong
to S.A.M., the NRA, and other sporting organizations. I am the father
of three children (All have left the nest!) and reside in my village home
in North Berwick, with my wife Sharon and without her support, MaineHunters.com
would not exist! My son, Russell, graduated from college the spring of
2008 with a degree in Sports Management, I decided to put him to work with
me and take MaineHunters.com to the next level and go Pro and start videoing
hunts to create our first ever 2008 Season of MaineHunters.com - New England
Hunts DVD! Hunting.. A family heritage.. Carry on the tradition!
In 1999 I started a family website to start posting our hunting photos
on the internet, so my older brother Alan could easily see how we were
making out here in Maine. At that time he living in UpState NY, with his
wonderful family. Alan is now hunting in the superior hunting grounds in
heaven and greatly missed by his all his family and friends. Alan was my
mentor and inspiration to become the avid sportsman that I am now. From
the start in 1999 old friends, new friends and family all wanted their
photos posted online too, it was new and slightly bold to post dead animals
for the world to see. I have encountered many anti-hunting protests along
the way, but we stood strong. I soon began posting photos of sportsmen
and sportswomen from all over the USA! With too many photos posted
to count, from fishing, trail cameras, coyotes, ducks, dogs, deer, turkey,
grouse, pheasant, roadkill to white moose! We are now posting Worldwide
and Filming hunts! You could say..... "We've come a long way baby and we're
here to stay!!!"
Swap A Turkey Hunt!
Currently I am not a registered Maine Guide, but if you would like
to swap a turkey hunt from your New England State, for a Turkey Hunt in
Maine or NH and be involved in the filming of these hunts for our next
DVD, in the 2009 season. Send me an e-mail, maybe we can swap a turkey
hunt in 2009 and you can appear in our 2009 Season video as our guest host!
States I am looking to swap hunts are, Rhode Island, Mass., CT and Vermont.
I can swap a hunt for NH or Maine. Email Steve

Waterville, Maine
23 Years old and hunting since 1995, puts 13 years in the woods plus the
hunts I went on when I was 8 and 9 with my father here in Maine. I learned
everything I know about hunting and fishing from my father, pro-staff member
Steve Beckwith. What my Old Man couldn't teach me about hunting and
fishing we ended up learning together. My fondest memories include learning
the art of bow hunting and turkey calling with my father as we both stumbled
our way into the respective sports. Being involved in competitive
sports throughout high school and college did put a damper on the quantity
of success stories and I have still yet to spend enough quality time in
the Maine woods to harvest that mature buck that we all dream of getting.
I can't say the same though for turkey hunting; I now consider myself a
decent turkey hunter and have harvested over a handful of mature toms in
three different New England states. With my recent graduation from
Thomas College in Waterville, ME, I have now freed up some much needed
time to devote myself to hunting and the outdoors. My hunting intentions
are to make Mainehunters.com a success and bring the hunting community
a new and fresh look to what hunting New England is truly about.
With the extra time on my hands I plan on adventuring into new facets of
hunting that I have not had time for. I am looking forward to sharing
these new adventures of mine with the rest of the world and hope that eventually
I can make my full-time job… my part-time job!
The adventure of bringing this creation together was started in concept
by both my father and I. We wanted to bring our growing number of
internet viewers a new and exciting piece of hunting in the Northeast!
As a recent college graduate I am struggling on finding the area where
I really want to most apply my degree. Mainehunters.com is just that
place for me where I can put passion and dedication into a piece of work
that leaves me with a sense of accomplishment.
I am looking forward to sharing my experiences in the outdoors with
friends, family and the growing numbers of viewers that we hope to someday
call fans. Please feel free!
I am currently interested in opportunities in sales and marketing in
the field of outdoor sports. If you are looking for a fresh, motivated
young mind that is passionate about the outdoors please contact Russell

New Durham, New Hampshire
Born and raised in Farmington,N.H., from Farmington I went to Kent's
Hill High school in Kent's Hill, Maine. After Kent's Hill, I headed to
southern N.H. to attend Franklin Pierce University. I played college hockey
which made things very busy and it also kept me away from the woods. I
now reside in New Durham, N.H. with my wife Heidi and 7 hounds!
I started hunting with my father at the age of 10,
we hunted off and on until high school. My last few years in college my
hunting desires became stronger and stronger and I found myself constantly
thinking about turkeys, deer, bear, whatever I could hunt! After college
I worked with a few guides off and on and fell in love with hunting completely.
Now I hunt all the major species that N.H. has to offer except for the
dreaded moose which I can't seem to "ever" draw a permit! I love baiting
bear in the fall and I love deer hunting archery/blackpowder/rifle. I operate
a deer processing business at my home. I also have several beagles
and a few walker hounds. I love running rabbits in the snow and cats up
in Maine! My true passion though is turkey hunting, I cant get enough!
I hunt all over for birds and I love guiding for them. The best part of
turkey hunting is taking the youths out, its something we need to be doing
more of.
I have hunted in several states North Carolina., Illinois, Massachusetts,
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Maryland, West Virginia.
I'm also a member of the NWTF, NRA, SAM's, Buckmasters, and of course
the MaineHunters.com Pro-Staff Team!

I started hunting squirrels when my dad let me shoot a gun I was under
10, I am now 51. I have hunted deer since I was 10. I shot my first
deer at 12 years old. I have shot too many to count! I shot my first
bear in 1976. I have harvested many more since then, I been letting my
son, Trent, (Pro Staff Assistant below) shoot them since he turned
age 10, He is now 18. I have trapped all animals that Maine has including
a bear. I bow hunt and have shot turkeys and deer with my bow.
I have a camp in northern, Maine and hunt up there as time allows, my work,
a full time taxidermist, makes it hard to find time to be at camp!
I have hunted mostly in Maine but have shot a mule deer and antelope in
Wy and a caribou in Canada. I am a member of numerous hunting & fishing
related clubs and organizations, such as S.A.M and the Sanford Springvale
Rod & Gun Club.

Jay Wagner - Pro-Staff Lebanon,
Maine
52 years old and still as spry as a young buck! *(Self
Proclaimed!)* I started actually hunting at age 12. At the age of about
10 years old I started walking “up the tracks” and into the woods surrounding
Babson reservoir. I took an immediate interest in hunting and fishing.
My older brother took me fishing a few times and set me on my way chasing
trout and stripers.
With no one in my family that hunted I was on my
own. I got my start like most kids with a BB gun and bow and arrow. My
dad was lost at sea when I was 7 but my mother understood my desire to
hunt and for my 15th birthday she bought me a new 12 ga. shotgun and I
was on my way to a lifetime of hunting and fishing.
As a young adult I started to hunt in Maine and
bought a hunting camp in Bingham. I also started to travel to other states
enjoying what those states had to offer. Moving to Maine in 1990 I now
live and hunt around the York county area and travel when time and money
allow. My daughter, Cheyenne, has now joined me on a number of local deer
hunts and turkey hunts with our hunting buddy, Steve Beckwith. Cheyenne
is the first female hunter on record to have accomplished harvesting a
turkey all six years in Maine as a youth hunter, from age 10-15.
I have been fishing for stripers for about 40 plus
years now and while I do enjoy going for trout and freshwater bass on occasion,
I always go back to spending most of my fishing time looking for stripers. My
small boat gets a workout with family and friends looking for stripers
and bluefish when they are in.
I cut my teeth on small game such as pheasant and
bunnies. I truly enjoy hunting with a good dog. A flushing spaniel or a
hound singing an a hot track does my soul good. Jim White of Gloucester,
Ma. Took me by the hand and showed me how to duck and goose hunt out of
lay out boats and gunning over his hand made decoys. He also taught me
how to live line for large stripers. A great sportsman for sure who shared
his knowledge with a 15 year old looking for help.
I started deer hunting in Pa. and Maine about the
same time. My most enjoyable deer hunt was my first trip to Pa. (1984)
when I took a small spike. I felt like a king with that trophy. I remember
the details like it was yesterday.
A trip to Wyoming where I took a 3x5 mule
deer rates right up there for me, however a more recent trip to Pa. where
I took a very nice 10 point was an outstanding time for sure. Both these
trips were with my brother in law, John Mondello. I am still teaching him
the ways of the woods.
I spent a number of years hunting with Marc Richards
of Milan NH, chasing bears with hounds. These were some of the most memorable
hunts I have ever been on. Marc is a super houndsman and a great hunting
buddy. His hound Stevie, I swear they could talk to each other and fully
understand what the other was saying. Hoss, another great hound was a pure
delight to hunt with, and the list goes on. Marc set me up with Leo
Dollins and we went on a mountain lion hunt in Idaho where I took a pope
and young size cat with my bow. A once in a lifetime hunt I will always
recall with a smile. Some of the very best years were hunting with these
men and their hounds.
Hunting coyotes has offered me some great times
and enjoyable company while I stood watch at club coyote. A heated and
all set up coyote hunting blind with room to spare and a stove to warm
the coffee.
In recent years I have taken up turkey hunting and
I have found it to be very enjoyable and rewarding as anything I have done.
Not only do I enjoy the actual hunt but being able to go along and be involved
while others are trying to take a bird has been just as good in many cases.
Of course being able to hunt with my daughter Cheyenne while she took turkeys
for 6 years in a row was simply the best. My buddy Steve of these site’s
fame was instrumental in Cheyenne and I getting into the turkey woods and
making years of the most memorable hunts I have ever been on. Steve has
never missed a hunt with Cheyenne and I and we would never want it to be
any other way.
I hope to do a little bow hunting in the future. Other
than the mountain lion I took on a bow hunt I have not returned to the
bow although I still own it. I also hope to enjoy a number of hunts in
the future such as an elk hunt in Wyoming and perhaps a moose hunt in Newfoundland
for I know for sure I will never get pulled for a Maine tag. I hope
to start the pursuit of the turkey grand slam by heading to Florida in
a few years. This year will also mark a return to coyote hunting and I do
enjoy coyote hunting.
I have been on many hunts where I am alone, great
times that will live forever in my mind, very special indeed. However,
with over 40 years of hunting under my belt, I can attest that the very
best hunting memories I have were the hunts that I shared with some of
the finest people I have known. Hunting is far more than just taking game
and having game heads mounted, far more indeed!
I wasn't sure I wanted to become a MaineHunters.com Pro-Staff member
until I saw those cool MaineHunters.com T-shirts and I knew Steve would
not be my friend anymore if I didn't join the team! :) |
Tom Thibeault - Pro-Staff
Sanford, Maine
I Been hunting since I was 8 and I started bow hunting
at 22, I am currently 40 years old. I started hunting when I was young,
mostly with my dad, uncles and cousins. My cousins were a lot older than
Me and when my dad did not have time they would take me out. It was fun
hunting with my family.
As I got older I Started hunting on my own. That's when
I got the passion to bow hunt. this was about the time I met my best friend,
Dave Sprague. He is the one who got me hunting as much as I do now.
Now I mostly hunt every thing with a bow. I even work at a archery
pro shop. I have bow hunted a few states ME, NH, VT, PA, Maryland, and
NB Canada. My favorite way to hunt is with my bow if you can't tell...,
I have taken deer, turkey and a bear with it. Once the bow season Is done
I do a little sea duck hunting. I hunt as much as I can through out the
year. If I'm not hunting I'm scouting or practicing shooting or working
on bows.

I am currently 18 years old and I started hunting in 2000 when I was 10.
I shot my first deer when I was 12 and shot my first bear when I was 10.
I have shot deer, bear, turkeys, and a coyote over the course of
8 years! I find it fun getting up early to see and hear the animals in
the woods when they first start their day. The best part of hunting is
just getting out in the woods and spending time trying to get a turkey,
deer or bear, it's just fun being out there!
I like taking photos and filming deer, bear, moose, and turkeys too! |
